This topic has been an object of interest since the beginning of the civilization and it is one of the most important topics of today studies all around the world. Scientist, various experts and specialist are all banging their heads in order to get the best possible answer which could shed some light on a question that has been bothering them.

They want to answer how exactly one culture can affect our modern society. We know for sure that culture is a part of society, it is what makes society what it is or what we know society is. It is a part of our lives and culture defines one nation as it is. Also, the combination of one culture and society that it belongs to is what makes one country and nation that resides in that country

The ethnicity and culture make one people belong to a certain region. When you have ethnicity and culture, you get society. Now let us dwell deeper into the subject and try to define what culture actually is. Culture is a set of customs and beliefs that belong to a particular society. The society is a group of people that share the same place of residing at the same time. These people have a certain innate behavior, or if you prefer, they tend to behave or conduct themselves according to the customs, beliefs, and region they live in. You cannot find two people that are completely the same in this world, not a chance.

CULTURE IS WHAT DEFIES SOCIETY

Culture makes us unique. It is safe to say that culture is what makes one nation unique. If you see things globally, a culture and a sense of society are what make us human. It is our way of life, thinking and believing that makes us what we are. So a culture defines one society in its very form

There are some notions that literature, culture and society are all intertwined. In fact, literature helps us to understand the connection between these two. It is all in attempt to reconnect the studies from all three fields and realize the importance that comes from it. It can provide a real and critical overview of theoretical approaches that are dealing with exploring both culture and society. It is a fascinating study.

What Is Culture and How Does It Affect Our Daily Lives?

No matter what we do, culture is part of the society we live in; whether it is our culture by birth or the culture of the new country in which we reside.

No matter what we do, culture is part of the society we live in; whether it is our culture by birth or the culture of the new country in which we reside. I truly believe we are born with a unique fingerprint that includes three things: first, the ethnicity of that person which includes the distinct DNA of each parent; second, the culture of both parents; and third, kindness, which I believe is innate in all human beings at birth.

So here we are at birth with our unique fingerprint made up of ethnicity, culture, and kindness. But before I continue with this train of thought, I think it would be very useful to mention DEFINITION of some of the words we are going to use.

  • BEHAVIOR
  • DICTIONARY DEFINITION: (a) the way a person behaves or conducts oneself, (b) the response of an individual, group, or species to its environment. For me, when I think of this word, what comes to mind is a response to stimulus.

  • LEARNED BEHAVIOR:
  • DICTIONARY DEFINITION: acquired changes in behavior during one's lifetime. This is also what comes to mind for me when I think of "learned behavior."

  • INNATE BEHAVIOR:
  • DICTIONARY DEFINITION: does not have to be learned or practiced; it is also known as instinctive behavior. I see this as part of your initial fingerprint at birth (whether we know this or not).

  • CULTURE:
  • DICTIONARY DEFINITION: the beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time. For me, culture is a country or a place that has its own beliefs, a way of life, etc.

THE PARTS THAT ALL INTERTWINED WITH THE WORD CULTURE...

Some believe it is innate, some believe it is learned, and some believe we need to get rid of culture all together.

  • One of the interesting facts in our lives that we are all connected, 30 years ago. We did not travel as much and the World Wide Web was only a tiny figment of someone's imagination. We had no idea that technology -- what we see on the small and big screens in our homes -- would bring into our day-to-day lives such closeness with so many different cultures!

  • Today, WHERE MOST OF US LIVE IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SOCIETY OR ENVIRONMENT from which we were born into, we sometimes do not even speak the language of our birth-culture. We will discuss conversation about culture and how it affects our everyday lives. The child who is born here, what they call "first generation," has a burden on their shoulders at birth. The parents may have immigrated under difficult circumstances and their hopes to see their children do well in their new environment are huge. The pressure is on that child from the moment it is born! The expectation of the parents for this child is of tremendous opportunities that the parents can only imagine as they have never had that. Education, a master's degree, a well-paying job, and hopefully citizenship of the new country. This child has to navigate two sets of cultures. Remember, his/her unique fingerprint along with the culture that is inherited. First of all how adaptable children are in general, and second, that often nobody in either culture actually assists in explaining how their culture works, like having a manual or a textbook to help you through the trials and errors.
