Moral education is basically a training which shows us the right and just way to lead our lives. Being honest, just, legitimate, accommodative, generous, to share love and care, show consideration and sensitivity are basic principles of moral education. It is more of a practice which enriches the way of our lifestyle.
All of us have grown up hearing the stories of Moral Values and We may have forgotten the stories, but the values still remain in our minds.
From childhood itself, we have grown up hearing about moral values. And yes, they are so precious that they help us in becoming a good human being.
Moral values are a set of principles that guide us throughout our lives. Moral values direct us to the right path to lead our lives. Imparting these from the early days helps one to distinguish between right and wrong. These values involve factors like loving others, helping others, respecting others, morality, honesty, etc.
Finally, it helps to build a high minded person and to follow the path of righteousness.
One can attain right and virtuous character only if he/she is able to follow moral values with complete honesty.
Moral education should include the mental and moral development of an individual. As we grow up we keep on learning and transforming ourselves, so do our morals.
We should keep in mind the fact that moral education can be effectively imparted to the younger ones mainly through examples and not by percepts.
As kids are good observers, they notice everything we do. They keep on watching us, so try to be an example for them to adopt. Parents should also be aware of the type of companions they make. Teachers and parents should always monitor the behavior of kids. They should be able to apply moral values as it comes to practical life. The surrounding can also influence them, in building up moral values. Elders should remember to encourage and appreciate them for the moral virtues they hold. It motivates them to hold on to these values always. In the course of time, it becomes a part of them.
Moral education can be rendered at home, school, by tutors, elders and parents. It is best taught by practicing what is right and just in front of the kid. It is an education for all and can be done at each and every time. It is not limited by geographical boundaries and skilled trainers. It is best taught by shown practical examples.
Every young parent should be very attentive toward their children’s requirement of moral education. Childhood is the most vulnerable period which impacts the overall development of an individual’s personality. As a parent be attentive about what your kid is learning and from where. As a parent, you need to be careful about the peer and friends your child might have and take time out to make them understand what’s right and wrong.
Children are the foundation of our society the torchbearers of our Nation. As a teacher and an influence, one must take care of the moral training and basic qualities that are conferred on the children. It will eventually affect the fate of the country as a whole; we must execute as understudies in school and universities.
Every time a child is caught lying or gets out of hand, necessary counseling has to be given to them. It is important to treat them as an equal and show trust and faith in them and make them confident to take their own calls. They should always be taught that it might be difficult, to tell the truth, but it is always essential to tell the truth. Stories and examples must be shared with them so that they have more clarity of thought. Give them time and treat them with patience at all times.
It is also important to educate children to be disciplined and not to cheat while in class and examinations. They are to be taught that there are no shortcuts in life and life is an examination where there is no syllabus, the only thing that can get them though is a good character and speaking the truth at all times.
It is important to educate children about the phenomenal activists and legends who exemplifies strength and has shown character to fight against all odds and champion the right causes to bring revolutionary changes. These reformers and prophets should be the role models that the youth should follow and look up to. Assist your children to find a cause worth working for, make them contribute to voluntary services and helping the needy. When they start these as a habit from childhood, they can take it forward in their lives. Each child can make a significant contribution in their own way.
It is also important to tell your children the severity of the punishment one might get committing crimes and serious offenses. They must be clear on what is right and wrong. Be a mentor than a parent and talk to your child as a friend, it would be a smoother process for them to learn. Share your past mistakes, its consequences and what you learned from it. Do not discourage their adventurous spirit but teach them to balance it between an adventure and a misadventure.

The students always tend to look at their teachers as ideal ones. So teachers should be able to be a role model for them to imbibe moral values. Reading moral stories can also help in developing moral values.
Even students from refined and cultural families lose moral values if their companions and school environment are not proper. Children should have a strong base of moral values. Our curriculum must include the biographies of great personalities who followed the right path in life.
If effectively implemented, Moral Education will help learners with tools of judgment making and leading them to make effective decisions and choices. Therefore, the importance of moral education is vital and also it should be an integral part of the school and college curriculum.
Finally, moral values give us happiness, immense satisfaction and confidence to face life as it is. These values help to mold gentle humans who are beautiful in values and nature.
